Sound The NCAA Investigation Alarm: Kyler Murray Signs $5M Deal With Oakland A's That Allows Him To Play QB For Oklahoma In Fall

On Monday night, Kyler Murray was taken by the Oakland A’s:

Oklahoma was expecting Murray to be their replacement for Baker Mayfield in 2018. After speculation began that Murray would be drafted high in the MLB Draft, word came out that Oklahoma was not concerned at all that they would have to find a new QB. That feeling was confirmed on draft night:

Last night, it came out that he will be playing football thanks to a special contract from the Oakland A’s:

Good for Kyler Murray. The former Mr. Texas Football will be the QB for a top 10 team in America all while a path to MLB waiting for him when he’s finished. $5,000,000 is A LOT of money. So much money that it is $1.4M more than his coach Lincoln Riley will be making in 2018:

I’m not sure the exact NCAA rule surrounding this, but what Kyler is going to do here has been done before and is completely legal. Why this is within the lines of play in the NCAA rulebook, but making money off of your YouTube channel isn’t is still a mystery:

Sometimes Most times I think 2+2 equals 3 in the NCAA rulebook.
