BlackJack's College Football Extravaganza
Alright, time for a big Saturday here, baby. Yesterday stunk, I was a dreadful 0-6. Whatever, time to move on. What’s next? What’s next is today. A massive college football slate and we will attack it. That 1-5 record yesterday made me angry. I woke up today refreshed but vicious. Can’t happen again. We must rebound and rebound we shall. Let’s fucking roll.
College Football Winners:
Florida (-4) at South Carolina
This is a perfect spot for Florida. They are off a disappointing loss to LSU, who they hung with for two and a half quarters, while South Carolina is riding the high of beating Georgia. Florida is better than I thought they would be with Kyle Trask. South Carolina is also better than most of us thought they would be. This spot though, this spot screams Florida.
THE PICK: Florida -4
Toledo at Ball State (-3)
Toledo….sounds vaguely familiar for some reason. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but, ah, it’ll come to me. Anyway, I think the wrong team is favored here. Toledo actually has a fairly impressive resume with a win over BYU, and they are off a TERRIBLE loss last week. I think the Rockets come out angry and looking to wash the bad taste of Bowling Green out of their collective mouths.
THE PICK: Toledo +3
Baylor at Oklahoma State (-3.5)
Baylor has been phenomenal this season under Head Coach Matt Ruhle. He has done an unbelievable job of turning that program around after the Art Briles debacle left it in shambles. Having said that, Stillwater is a tough place to play and Mike Gundy always has his guys ready to go. I like the ‘Pokes here.
THE PICK: Oklahoma State -3.5
Texas A&M (-5.5) at Ole Miss
The Aggies have been up and down this year, but defensively they have been pretty solid. Ole Miss has been almost exclusively “down” this year. I think what this comes down to is a pretty simple analysis really. A&M has the better QB, the better team in general, and the better coach. I’ll go that way.
THE PICK: Texas A&M -6
Army (-4.5) at Georgia State
Army is off consecutive losses to Western Kentucky and Tulane and now head to Georgia to take on Georgia State. This is a perfect get well spot for the Knights. Georgia State allows nearly 200 yards on the ground per game to opponents. Army’s triple option should get healthy here.
THE PICK: Army -4.5
Michigan at Penn State (-7.5)
Michigan’s defense has looked better of late. Penn State has struggled against top defenses this year. Those are both absolutely true. However, this Michigan offense is abysmal, and as good a coach as Jim Harbaugh may be, James Franklin is no slouch. Happy Valley will be electric tonight, I think the Nittany Lions find enough offense to get this thing done. I’d wait this out for 7 or even buy the half point if necessary just to be safe.
THE PICK: Penn State -7
Let’s cash these tickets baby!
