Mobile Alabama Bowl Betting Primer

Oh, you thought Monday Night Football was finished?!? 

We have 1 bowl left outside of the national championship and it's this one. Miami (OH) vs. UL-Lafayette, a school that wants to be known as the University of Louisiana. 

There is a massive difference between these two teams according to all metrics. SP+ has Miami (OH) ranked 106th and FEI has them ranked 95th. There are only a few bowl teams worse than them. On the other hand, Louisiana-Lafayette ranks 25th in FEI and 33rd in SP+. It is clear that the Ragin' Cajuns are the better team. 

Miami's biggest issue comes on offense, where they rank 114th according to SP+. They have a little bit better of a defense, but that still ranks 78th. With a month layoff, some may be scared off of betting on the Ragin' Cajuns high powered offense. I would say that is fine if they were a team that relied on the pass, but they don't. This is a run-first team that ranks 4th in rushing success, which will expose Miami's 83rd ranked rush defense. The only thing that Miami does well on defense is causing havoc (26th), but Lafayette's strength on offense is stopping said havoc (1st).

Louisiana may win this one by 28+.
