It was a good Saturday for one lucky horse racing bettor who turned a 50-cent Pick 5 into over half a million dollars.

If you're someone who maybe doesn't like or understand the Sport of Kings, the card at Gulfstream Park on Saturday gave you over 524,000 reasons to reconsider. A Pick Five wager, which is essentially a five team parlay, paid out over a half a million dollars. For those sports gamblers amongst us, I don't have to tell you that a five team parlay in any sport isn't paying anything close to that. Now, the article above isn't written clearly enough to know what the wager was, just that it was in increments of 50-cents, as most Pick Fives are. I'd be more than shocked if it was a simple 50 cent wager. Having said that, even if it was a bet that cost a thousand dollars, you're still getting 500-1. Only in horse racing will you get odds like that. Give it a shot.
