After An Exciting Weekend of Racing, It's Monday Again...
Obviously in light of everything going on in the world right now, we're all lucky to be healthy and safe and all that. But I can't help but complain a little bit here. We just had a great weekend of racing down in Arkansas. Now it's Monday and the only options on the table are Will Rogers and Fonner. What I wouldn't do for a nice little card at Parx right now? Throw some Turf Paradise or Sunland out there too while you're at it. But I digress, this is what we have, so this is what we will play. Let's hit Will Rogers for a play today, shall we?
BlackJack's Will Rogers Late Pick Four:
Race Seven: There are two horses that interest me in this race. The first is the (2) A Fast Broad because she is dropping from the maiden special weight division down to the maiden claimers and the second is the (10) Lagoon Falls. This one is a first time starter for Karl Broberg, I'll use both.
Race Eight: This is a tough race and we'll need to go deep here. I think there is excellent value on the (1) Martini Thursday. This is a horse with an excellent trainer in Scott Young, who has been knocking on the door, even at this level in the past, and just hasn't closed the deal. Having said that, he's far from a single, so let's also include (2), (6), (7), and (9).
Race Nine: The (4) Potomac will be the favorite here, as he is nearly every time he takes to the track. The problem is he doesn't usually deliver on that confidence placed in him by the bettors. I will reluctantly include him because he is capable of putting up a number that wins this race, but my top choice here is the (7) March West, who has some tougher races in his short career, and his race two back is certainly good enough to win this one. Also including the (3) and (8).
Race Ten: It's really hard to ignore the drop being taken by the (2) Ship Shape Miss in this race. This is a horse with some pretty classy races in her past and she's now in the claiming ranks. Her best wins this by a pole. If anyone can test her though I would lean to it being the (1) Erebuni. I'll use both.
