Sunday Soccer Bets For June 21st

Yesterday, the lads went 4-2 on Saturday, for a gain of 1.92 units. That moves us up to 5.62 units in the red in 2020 for the footy season. As I say every blog, the goal is to end in the black before we flip the calendar on the soccer season to 2020-21.
Premier League

Newcastle +0.25 (-120): Earlier this season, Newcastle took down Sheffield by a score of 2 to nil on the road. Now, they welcome Sheffield United to an empty crowd at their home pitch, but I could see them finding the same success they did earlier in the season. On the road this year, Sheffield ranks 15th in the entire PL in expected points. Their defense is especially shaky on the road, allowing over 23 xG. The bottom line here is Sheffield United is a different team on the road and I don't see that changing even without a crowd.

Everton +1: Since Carlo Ancelotti has taken over Everton, they've been a force in the Premier League. Ancelotti took the manager role on December 21st, since then, according to expected points, Everton has been the 5th best team in the Premiership. Their success has been on the offensive side of the ball, raking in 22.68 xG, 3rd in the league since 12/21. Getting +1 in a derby like this? I can't pass it up. Liverpool is one of the best teams in Europe, but their play leading up to the break was just not up to par. Everton played Liverpool well according to xG in December (5-2 final, xG: 2.5-1.75) before their change to Ancelotti.
La Liga

Real Madrid -160: Since the restart of La Liga, Real Sociedad has found themselves not managing to score over 1 xG in both of their games. Their last game, where they lost 2-0 to Alaves, Sociedad only managed to have 0.32 xG. To make things worse Alaves is not even that great of a club, ranking 14th in expected points in La Liga. Real Madrid has been great since the return. Their defense has managed to allow under 0.35 xG against both opponents. This is bad news for a Real Sociedad offense that has been incredibly sluggish in their first two games back.
