Joey Chestnut Just Gave A HUGE Tip To All The Dengenerate Gamblers Out There

Joey tells TMZ Sports come July 4 -- thanks to the competition being moved indoors without fans 'cause of COVID-19 -- he's primed for a record-shattering performance.

"There's a little bit of a bonus 'cause we're gonna be eating in air conditioning and they're less eaters, so they're making less hot dogs so they might taste better," Chestnut says.

"There's a good chance that we might have better conditions for a world record and I'ma be pushing for it."

I mean, is this not huge news for the degenerate gamblers of the world that are foaming at the mouth to get action on literally anything right now? My buddies and I had a NASCAR group chat yesterday where we shared our expert picks of a sport we've never watched before, not to be confused with the most intense golf text chain we had from Thursday-Sunday as we watched Webb Simpson bring home the RBC Heritage at +2000. With no football or basketball or baseball on, I mean, you might even pick up day trading in the stock market just to get your fill!

But this.....this statement by Joey Chestnut.....is EXACTLY what I needed to hear heading into his July 4th hot dog eating competition. For those of that don't follow the Major League Eating circuit as closely as I do, the show is still going on this year despite the coronavirus, but obviously there are some precautions that will be taking place. Most notably, it will be inside and with no fans. Well.....no "fanatics". There may be actual ceiling fans running because we're talking AIR CONDITIONING this year baby.

Anyone that doesn't get where I'm going with this can exit the blog now. This is a monumental tip when you look at the gambling odds heading into the competition. Everyone knows that the most grueling part of the Nathan's Hot Dog Contest isn't even scarfing down 70+ hot dogs in 10 minutes....it's the fact that they have to do it in 100+ degree temperatures. Sweat is literally raining down the competitors faces from the heat, and now that's not an issue at all. We're talking PRIME eating conditions here, folks. Just like how you'd do if you went out to eat. No sun beating down on your face. No fans screaming and entertainer yelling and music blaring. This is going to be just like a practice session. Joey knows what he can do in this. There's no outside factors....and he's even thinking that the dogs might taste a little better because they don't have to cook a billion of them this year. All signs are pointing to Joey Chestnut going HIGH on July 4th this year.

So Joey Chestnut is like -900 to win the event for the 13th time in his career. Obviously not a good bet. But the general consensus around the offshore gambling websites that I looked at had an over / under of 71.5 for this competition. Huh??

Joey is calling his shot, Babe Ruth style, for a new world record! The current world record is 74......and the over / under is 71.5? In air conditioning? Hammer the over. Easy $
