Sweep City? Your WNBA Seattle Storm v Las Vegas Aces Game 3 Gambling Preview
Well, folks, this is probably the last WNBA gambling blog of the year. Which is sad, because we’ve been making so much money (2-0 on Sunday NBD), but I just can’t see how Las Vegas is going to hang with the wagon that is the Seattle Storm. In Sunday’s matinee Game 2 (with Seattle already up 1-0 in the Best of 5 series), the Aces once again had no answer for Breanna Stewart, the runner up in MVP voting to Las Vegas’ A’ja Wilson. She was 5-8 from three and had 22 points to lead the Storm to a 104-91 victory to easily cover and smash the over. Wilson had a quiet 20-7-1 as the Aces fell behind early and played catch up, not a recipe for success against a team that can shoot threes as well as Seattle.
Seattle has become increasingly bigger favorites as the series progressed, and are now giving away nearly twice as many points as before the series started. While -8.5 (170.5) might seem like a lot? Don’t overthink this. Seattle is the better team, the Aces are banged up, and this is what we call a close out special. Break out the brooms.
THE PICK: Storm -8.5
Thanks for hanging out with me all year as we managed our way through a successful and profitable WNBA season! The Wubble was by all accounts a big hit. I’m already looking forward to the upcoming season when some of the league’s biggest stars (Sabrina Ionescu, Elena Della Donne, etc.) will be back in action. And more importantly, they’ll be playing on their home courts.
So one final time, let these ladies make you some cash! (Unless Vegas somehow manages a W, then we’ll be back later this week).
