Week 7 NCAAF Deep Dive Of The Best Play On The Board

Another week, another dollar. Since I started posting CFB deep dives at Barstool. I am 2-1-1. Overall on the season I am 7-4. You can find my full card every Saturday on Twitter.

Don't forget next week we get more games as the Big 10 gets started. Let's break it down...

Currently at Barstool Sportsbook, Temple is -13.5 vs South Florida and the total is 53.

Temple was involved in a winner for me last week. Offensively they look fierce. QB Anthony Russo was efficient. He was able to make throws and use his feet. Outside of one bad mistake in the red zone, he was solid. Normally with the COVID teams that play their first game, usually you see it get even better in week 2. The running game is really good and I personally think they have the best WR group in the AAC. Last week against Navy, the wideouts were hard to deal with averaging 11 yards a catch as a unit.

I think here against a floundering South Florida team, they should be able to do what they want. South Florida is allowing 5 yards per carry and is off a game where they gave up 44 points and 210 yards on the ground to a bad East Carolina team. They were out of place defensively and struggled to keep up. Temple should push 40 here. This is a really good offense.

Last week against Navy, they actually weren't bad defensively. They gave up under 300 yards to Navy, but the turnover in the red zone before half ended up being the undoing. My issue that Temple has this year on defense is just replacing so many great players. This is only game 2 and it's going to take some time to get going. Facing a triple option was tough and while South Florida isn't dynamic, they run a fast offense and have ability.

The Bulls have had a tough season, they've been destroyed three times and have one win was against the Citadel. They've been awful on defense and only average just over 19 points per game on offense. Keep an eye out for Johnny Ford. He has some ability in the backfield. But the talent is scarce on this roster. They average about 2.5 turnovers on offense per game.

This is chance for the Owls to fly and get going on offense, as I said I expect they touch 35-40 here. South Florida should be able to aid in some short fields for Temple. They have had issues so far this year holding onto the ball. I expect a fun offensive game for Temple. South Florida is flat out shit on defense. I'm playing Temple TEAM TOTAL OVER 33.5 at Barstool Sportsbook. Would play up to 34.5.
