BMOC Serie A Soccer Selections For The Weekend
Back with another weekend of picks from the greatest league in the world.... Serie A....
Currently since posting my selections on the blog, I'm 8-5 +3.54u.... This round of matches is before an international break, so teams generally will play a bit more free and open. Let's get into it
FRIDAY:
Sassuolo v Udinese: Sassuolo continues to roll in Serie A. The small city club is 2nd in the league and off a clean sheet win against Napoli. What makes the win even greater was that they were without 3 top players in Berardi, Caputo and Djuricic. According to manager Roberto Di Zerbi, Caputo and Berardi are expected back in some fashion in the game and alongside Jeremie Boga, they will be back to their normal attacking ways. Since the start of the new season, Sassuolo has scored 2 or more goals in 5 of those matches including 4 or more in 3 of them. This side is awesome and have been a favorite of mine to bet on. Udinese continue to struggle, the ability to score goals just isn't there and defensively have fallen off a cliff. They have lost 5 out of 6 to start the season. Two teams going in opposite directions. Udinese may do a decent job initially defensively here but Di Zerbi will have the option to bring on plenty of talent to get a win. PICK: Sassuolo (+100)
REST OF WEEKEND:
Cagliari v Sampdoria: The team from Genoa heads down to island of Sardinia to take on Cagliari. Obviously if you read my pick breakdowns, I've mentioned Cagliari. They are a fun side, they score goals and give a lot up. Currently they've allowed 15 goals, third most in the league. Going forward Giovanni Simeone and Joao Pedro continue to be fantastic and have 9 goals combined. Sampdoria in their own right is really good with plenty of options. Fabio Quagliarella has been timeless and Keita Balde and Jakub Janko have provided plenty starting out or off the bench. This one has goals in the card. I expect an end to end 2-2 type of match. PICK: Both teams to score a goal and OVER 2.5 (-120)
Benevento v Spezia: Two of the new boy sides face off here and I expect goals. Benevento as I have said multiple times are literally the same team Lecce was last year in the league. Have 3-4 goal scoring options and absolutely nothing at the back. They have allowed 17 goals this season, the most in the league. In 5 straight games, they've seen BTTS/OVER 2.5 come in. Keep an eye also on Gianluca Lapadula (who actually played for Lecce last year) and Gianluca Caprari who have been very creative and are fun to watch. Spezia have continued to gain steam as well offensively even grabbing a goal last week against mighty Juventus. Spezia will view this as a game they can get 3 points from and will be forced into pushing forward and matching Benevento. Generally when lower table teams face eachother we see goals. PICK: Both teams to score and OVER 2.5 (-120)
