Thursday Picks Are In: RA's Gambling Corner Feat. Murls
The Canadiens fired Claude Julien after losing three straight and five of six. They were a team that had tuned out its coach after his message got stale after five seasons. That's NHL coaching life for you. Like the last guy to replace Claude (Butch Cassidy here in Boston), Dominique Ducharme will most certainly loosen the reins on his charges and Montreal will be a much more spirited bunch in tonight's game in Winnipeg. We're on the Canadiens money line -120 and throwing a smaller play on -1.5 +200 as well.
Good luck to all.
Friend of Spittin' Chiclets, son of The Capital District, and 17-year pro Matt Murley will also be sharing his picks here as well.
Chicago Blackhawks @ CBJ Blue Jackets (ML -120, O/U 6)
Murls Take: Yes, the Blackhawks are a young team and are playing well with a HOF player in Kane. But but…they are overachieving and tonight they won't get it done. CBJ lost the last game vs. the Hawks with way too many penalties and then losing in a shootout. Can you imagine Torts walking down the hallway after giving up 5? It would be like when you are a kid and your mom says "wait until your father gets home"-style panic. The Jackets are built to grind teams and win close games plus Subban is in net for the Hawks. Sooo CBJ will get the W tonight but it's going to be a sweat!!
Murls Pick: CBJ 3, Hawks 2
Murley's Best Bet: CBJ ML - 120
