We Have The Potential For Two Massive Upsets Tonight: Picks, Breakdowns And Betting Stats For Tonight's Conference Title Games
Talk about the perfect way to end the regular season. That's not the point here. We're on to March. We're on to conference tournaments. Like I said before, I'll be making a pick for all 31 conference title games (2-2 ATS so far) as well as a shit ton of other stuff. Sort of a weird day with no day games to start Championship Week. We need stuff going on today. I don't care for the lack of games. That said, we have two title games tonight, so let's get into it.
Just a reminder every single one of these lines comes from the glorious Barstool Sportsbook. Make sure you download the app here.
Today's schedule (reminder that games can still be canceled)
SoCON Tournament Final at 7pm in Asheville
Mercer (18-10, 12-13 ATS, 12-13 on the over)
Key Player: Ross Cummings (13.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg)
UNC-Greensboro (20-8, 16-12 ATS, 13-14-1 on the over)
Key Player: Isaiah Miller (19.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg)
Matchups this year: UNC-G, 2-0, 2-0 ATS, 2-0 on the over
Pick: UNC-Greensboro -5
Reasoning: Could we see an upset, that's the title of the blog right. But I don't see it in this game. First off, you have Mercer playing its 4th game in 4 days. Throw in the fact that UNC-G has by far the best player on the court in Isaiah Miller and they fly around? Yeah, give me the favorite here. They'll throw that press they run out and Mercer will have to deal with that. If you haven't seen Isaiah Miller play yet, tune in. He's the type of mid-major guy that everyone will fall in love with before picking a 4/13 game. For this game though? We'll take the favorite and bank on legs getting tired at some point here for Mercer.
Sun Belt Title game at 7pm in Pensacola
Appalachian State (16-11, 13-9-1 ATS, 10-13 on the over)
Key Player: Justin Forest (13.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg)
Georgia State (16-5, 11-8 ATS, 10-9 on the over)
Key Player: Corey Allen (15.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg)
Matchups this year: App State 2-1, 2-1 ATS, 2-1 on the over
Pick: App State +7
Reasoning: Dustin Kerns, the head coach of App State, is one of the guys you need to know. He's going to make his way up the coaching ranks fast. Here's the other thing - App State will always compete. They don't roll over and die, even if they are down, especially because of how reliant they are on the three. There is a concern about legs, especially going against Georgia State's uptempo offense. Seven just feels too high. We'll take the dog here. Let's get some anarchy.
Total Picks
164-163-2 overall, 64-64-1 on favorites, 66-53 on underdogs, 26-30-1 on the over, 8-16 on the under, 2-2 conference title picks
