After getting called out by Keith Jones on their local broadcast, the Flyers showed some life on Thursday and beat the Penguins in a shootout. But they're still not going anywhere this season. The Capitals embarrassed themselves against the Sabres on the same night losing 5-2. It's not that they lost to Buffalo but it was a dogshit effort for Nicklas Backstrom's 1000th NHL game. I expect a much better effort this afternoon from the Stanley Cup hopefuls. So we are all over the Capitals money line -135. We're also taking the Caps -1.5 +180. And we're gonna toss in a puck line action reverse with WAS -1.5 +180 and STL -1.5 +180 (ask for an Action Reverse and use the puck line instead of money line).

There's a big slate today so follow me on Twitter for the later plays. Be careful laying those heavy prices against "shitty" teams right now. Detroit and Buffalo have been anything but lay-ups lately and the alternate/reverse puck line has for them has cashed four times in the last week, the most recent being Buffalo popping for +700 Thursday night. As the season winds down, teams that are essentially locked in their playoff spots will find themselves getting outhustled, outplayed, and beat by inferior, underdog teams full of guys making the most of their auditions for next season. Those 'dogs are the teams you gotta jump on.
