Trysta's Teasers: Your WNBA Picks For The Weekend SUNDAY UPDATE
SUNDAY UPDATE:
Three games on the slate today. The Liberty visit Chicago (-5, o/u162), the Mystics are at Indiana (+1.5, o/u 162.5), and the red hot Sun visit the Las Vegas Aces (-4.5, o/u 161.5). The season is very early and it's still hard to get a read on teams. Take the Storm last night, where I hit the over but somehow the Storm (-7.5) couldn't close out the Wings and it went to OT where they only won by 4. Ouch. So I really would only recommend one game today, but I'm also betting Liberty +5 and Mystics +1.5 for what it's worth.
I like the Connecticut Sun on the road at Vegas tonight. I like the +4.5 but I really, really love the over 161.5. I think this game goes well over that mark. Both teams regularly score in the 80s and Vegas has scored 95 or more in the last two games. So bundle these two for a nice added bonus.
THE PICK: Sun +4.5

SATURDAY UPDATE:
Went 1-1 last night, and the intuition on Vegas -7.5 was right on so I feel like my cold spell is coming to an end.
Only one game on the slate tonight -- Seattle visits Dallas where they are -7.5 favorites on the road. And while that seems like a lot, the Storm are 7-1 in their last 8 ATS so I think this is a lock. I also like the 0168 and wouldn't hate tying them into a daily double.
THE PICK: Seattle -7.5

Yeah, I’m cold right now. It happens. I lost 9 in a row at one point in the WNBA season last year. I then righted the ship and won 13 straight. There’s an old saying: if it was so easy, it wouldn’t be called gambling.

Four games on the slate tonight, and I really like two of them.
The New York Liberty are HOT and on the road at the Washington Mystics. Right now, they are +3 despite the fact that the Mystics have yet to win this season. Normally I think this would be a trap game, as the Mystics aren’t bad. But … Elena Delle Donne is OUT with a back injury as is Myisha Hines-Allen. The Liberty are playing lights out right now, and it’s not just Sabrina, although she is a bucket. I LOVE the Liberty and the points. They are still being slept on heavily. The o/u is 160 and I’m leaning toward the under.
THE PICK: New York +3
The other game I like is the Connecticut Sun at the Phoenix Mercury. The Sun are +2 road dogs in the desert, and they, too, are HOT at 3-0 but lost starting guard Bri January. The Mercury are playing well (2-1) but are down Kia Vaughn and Bria Hartley. So I think this is a very close game between two good teams but I really like how they played against Phoenix last week when they beat them by 8 with a late run, and I see a repeat of that. The o/u is 161.5.
THE PICK: Connecticut +2
The other two games are Atlanta at Indiana (Indiana -3 and o/u 162) and Los Angeles at Las Vegas (Vegas -7.5 and o/u 168.5). I kind of like Vegas -7.5 but not enough to take it on its own.
I am putting a flyer on Liberty ML (+120), Connecticut ML (+120) and Vegas -7.5 (-112) for a payout of 8.24 to 1.
I'll update this blog over the weekend, and as always, you may hate the WNBA and rage online about how women’s basketball is the WORST. Always remember that these women can make you the same amount of money as men.
