Trysta's Teasers: WNBA Picks For The Weekend: SUNDAY UPDATE
SUNDAY UPDATE:
Nice Saturday night betting the chicks, as we got both games right.
BIG day for the WNBA today. Four games on the slate today, but I really like two of them.
Washington (-3 and o165.5) visits Atlanta, who has struggled big time at home. The Mystics are hot ATS (5-0) while the Dream is 1-5 ATS of late. This is a game that I really like to follow the trend on. Atlanta struggles to score since Carter has been out, and they are just not good at home. Natasha Cloud is back and will balance out Delle Donne being hurt. So I like the Mystics -3 in this game and I don't think it'll be close.
THE PICK: Washington -3
The second of the four games today I like is a heavyweight game between Seattle (-5.5 and o160). This is a great matchup between two of the best teams in the league. Alyssa Thomas is questionable for the Storm but they are deep enough to make up for that. The Sun are 8-2 ATS and the Storm 8-1 ATS recently. This could be a preview of the finals, to be honest. Both teams are humming. What to do when two hot teams pair off? Take the over, all day every day. These teams are going to score.
THE PICK: o160
Thanks for following along this weekend as we continue to let these women make us money. See you all here next week!
SATURDAY UPDATE:
It's always nice to start out the weekend by sweeping the board. Two games on the slate today including a matinee special. I like them both.
At 1:00 we have Chicago (-11 and o159) vs. Indiana. The Fever are the 2021 version of the 2020 Liberty, you just have to bet against them. HAVE TO. They are 1-10 and show little sign of turning this season around. Here's the problem, though. Chicago is 1-7 ATS of late which offsets the 1-5 ATS of Indiana. Ugh. Dog fight. About the only consistent thing about both these teams are they don't play defense. Both are regular over specials, so I'm counting on that to happen again.
THE PICK: o159
In the second game, we have Los Angeles visiting Minnesota (-5 and o160.5). The Lynx are inconsistent but so are the Sparks. The Lynx are 2-8 ATS which isn't great, and I've fallen into the trap of taking them when I shouldn't already once this year. But I am also not sold on L.A. Both of the Ogwumike sisters are out, as is Maria Vadeeva (Jasmine Walker is out for the year, too). Powers is out for the Lynx. I don't think L.A. has enough scoring power to make this over. The Under is in play.
THE PICK: u160.5
We'll update this again on Sunday, as we continue letting these women make us money.
==================================================================
Another fun weekend of WNBA basketball and we’re finally cruising as the season has started to mellow out. I’m looking for a whole lot fewer surprises going forward as teams have finally gotten back their players from overseas leagues and it’s still a month before a lot of teams will have to release internationals to practice for their national teams in prep for the Olympics (the WNBA is taking a break for that period by the way).
Two games on the slate tonight. I like them both.
Seattle (-10, o168.5) visits the Atlanta Dream. It’s an intriguing match up as Atlanta is 5-2 ATS and Seattle 2-5 ATS in their last seven. Chennedy Carter is still out for the Dream and will be for some time. The Storm are healthy and are in first place again. I like this to be a high scoring affair, so I’m going to take the Over (I’m leaning toward Seattle -10 too).
THE PICK: o168.5
Dallas visits Phoenix (-3, o165) in the late game and it’s another wild line. Phoenix is 1-5-1 ATS and Dallas is 4-1 ATS of late. Phoenix is without their Rock of Gibraltar in Diana Taurasi, and without her the offense tends to sputter. I am leaning toward the under in this game because I don’t see Phoenix scoring 80+ points.
THE PICK: u165
I'll update this blog over the weekend, and as always, you may hate twomen’s basketball with the fire of a supernova, but you know WAY more than Kobe Bryant, right? Smart men always remember that money knows no gender.
