Sometimes, It's Hip To Be Square With A Monday Parlay

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t like to take parlays. They are just not smart to bet long term unless you are betting UFC, Tennis and in my opinion MLB (sometimes). The only two games I really liked today were Blue Jays and Yankees, but even on the run line there wasn’t much value as the juice was so high. That’s why I decided to roll with a two team money line parlay. Yes, it's a little square, but so is betting Tom Brady in the Super Bowl so I'm fine with a square bet from time to time.

Let’s start with the Jays. They have been absolutely mashing since they got back home to Canada and think it continues today against Cleveland and the struggling Eli Morgan. Morgan gave up 6 runs against this Blue Jays lineup last time they squared off and Springer wasn’t even in the lineup yet. Meanwhile, Robbie Ray hasn’t pitched against the Indians in his career and I see that as an advantage in this matchup. However, this is really more of a fade of Morgan and think the Blue Jays smoke him again today.

Second leg is the Yankees. A trend I love to back is a freshly traded SP making his first start for his new team. Look at what happened with Gibson and the Phillies yesterday. I know narrative is sometimes a foolish thing to handicap, but I really like to back this spot and feel like it hits more often than not. Heaney is making his first start today since getting traded from the Angels and gets to do it at home in Yankee Stadium. This will also be the first time Rizzo and Gallo get to play at Yankee Stadium. Just feels like a Yankees win today and I’m going to stick with my trend of backing newly traded pitchers.

As always feel free to trash my picks in the comments below!
