Forecaster Frank's Picks: Week 4
I struggled in Week 3, posting a record 7-9 .438 and sit at 24-24 .500 on the season. Thinking of consulting Larry for this week's games, and you can consult him too and get a sweat hoodie.
Thursday Night
Jax +7.5 (o/u 46)
Bengals 27 Jaguars 21
A battle of the last two number one picks highlights this game as the Bengals have been impressive at 2-1, while the Jaguars have lost 18 straight games. Don't be shocked if Trevor Lawrence has a good game in primetime, as the Jaguars keep the game close.
Sunday at 1
Atl +1.5 (o/u 48)
Falcons 20 Washington 17
The Falcons' defense came up strong in a win at the Meadowlands to spoil Eli Manning's day. Taylor Heinicke has struggled for Washington and will again fall short as Atlanta improves to 2-2.
Buf -16.5 (o/u 47)
Bills 41 Texans 13
The first reaction is the spread is too high, but when I see Davis Mills and that neck at quarterback for Houston, I see the Texans wishihing they could phone home to escape the Buffalo stampede.
Det +2.5 (o/u 42)
Lions 23 Bears 20
The Lions have had some hard luck in the first three weeks as they nearly had a historic comeback in Week 1, led at the half at Lambeau in Week 2 and lost on a 66 yard field goal last week. This time they will get the win as Matt Nagy could be the worst coach in the NFL.
Dal -4.5 (o/u 50.5)
Cowboys 38 Panthers 17
The Panthers may be 3-0, but they have played a soft schedule with wins against the Jets and Jaguars, and have some injury issues. The Cowboys look like one of the stronger teams in the NFL and could be poised to make a big run i the NFC.
Ind +1.5 (o/u 42.5)
Colts 17 Dolphins 13
The Dolphins battled the Raiders for ten minutes in overtime before dropping to 1-2, while the Colts dropped to 0-3 with an agnozing loss in Tennessee. The Colts are desperate and know Jacoby Brissett well, this will help them get their first win of the year as the Miami offensive line continues to be a major weakspot.
Min +2 (o/u 51.5)
Vikings 27 Browns 24
The Vikings are feeling well about themselves after recording their first win of the season. The Browns looked good in dominating the Bears. This one feels like a letdown for Cleveland as the Vikings get the win as a home dog.
NO -7.5 (o/u 42)
Saints 37 Giants 7
Floods, Hurricanes and Fire can't knock down the Superdome and can't rock the spirit of the fans in New Orleans. Look for the Saints to come out strong and crush the reeling Giants in their first home game of the season.
Ten -7.5 (o/u 44.5)
Titans 34 Jets 10
The Jets were once known as the New York Titans, they once were a NFL team too. These Jets look like a popwarner team with their hideous uniforms and play like one as Tennessee waltzes away with an easy win.
KC -7 (o/u 54.5)
Chiefs 44 Eagles 20
Andy Reid returns to Philadelphia with a Chiefs team that is 1-2 after a pair of frustrating losses. The Eagles meanwhile were embarrassed in Dallas on Monday night. This one will be just as ugly as the Eagles are a far cry from the team that won the Super Bowl four years ago.
Sunday Late Games
Rams -4.5 (o/u 54.5)
Rams 33 Cardinals 20
A pair of 3-0 teams meet with first place in the stacked NFC West on the line. The Cardinals could have been beaten by the Jaguars last week, while the Rams dominated the Buccaneers. Look for Los Angeles to have another statement game as they take this one easily.
Sea +3 (o/u 52)
Seahawks 31 49ers 27
At 1-2 in the toughest division in the NFL, the Seahawks are in danger of having their season slip away before the leaves begin to change. The Seahawks have too much pride to allow that to happen. Look for Russell Wilson to have a big day as they get back on track with a win in San Francisco.
Bal +1 (o/u 44.5)
Ravens 20 Broncos 16
The Broncos are 3-0 but have played three teams with a combined record of 0-9. The Ravens are two plays away from being 0-3 themselves, but with a great comeback and a 66-yard field goal have won their last two games. Every game has been close for Baltimore, this one will be the same as they get a win in Denver.
GB -7 (o/u 45.5)
Packers 30 Steelrs 10
There is no doubt any more that Ben Roethlisberger is D-O-N-E done. The future Hall of Famer appears to be playing in slow motion and looks like a 69-year-old. Expect this one to get ugly as the Packers win it going away.
Sunday Night
TB -7 (o/u 49.5)
Buccaneers 37 Patriots 17
Expect an emotional night as Tom Brady returns to Foxboro to take on the Patriots for the first time. Brady is celebrating 20 years as NFL starter, with his seven rings jingling in his pocket. Bill Belichick will learn just how much it hurts to face the GOAT as Tom Brady makes the Patriots whistful for the glory days.
Monday Night
LV +3.5 (o/u 52.5)
Raiders 27 Chargers 24
The game may be in Los Angeles, but it will sound like a Raiders home game, as the Chargers continue to struggle to find their fan base. Just like their loss against the Cowboys, a home game turned into a road game is tough for any team as the Raiders win another close one to improve to 4-0.
