Forecaster Frank's Picks: Week 9
Week 8 was a winning week as I went 8-7. I am 60-61-1 on the season with a .496 percentage.
Thursday Night
NYJ +10.5 (o/u 46)
Colts 24 Jets 20
The biggest shocker of last week was Mike White leading the Jets to a win over the Bengals. Hard to see him getting a second win in five days, but I think the game will be close as the Colts escape with the win on a late score.
Sunday at 1
Bal -6 (o/u 49.5)
Ravens 27 Vikings 17
The Ravens' bye week came at an excellent time for them as the Bengals beat them up at home. With a Thursday night game ahead, they need to make quick work of the Vikings.
NE -4 (o/u 41)
Patriots 26 Panthers 16
Sam Darnold is questionable with a concussion. The Patriots have made him see ghosts in the past. Halloween may be over, but the Patriots are rising from the grave and could become a scary team as Mac Jones finds his stride.
Cin -2.5 (o/u 47)
Bengals 27 Browns 24
The Bengals were caught by the trap game last week as they suffered a stunning loss to the Jets, following a great win over the Ravens and ahead of the battle of Ohio. This week they will get back on track as the Browns come in with many injuries and turmoil from the consent complaining of Odell Beckham Jr.
Dal -9.5 (o/u 49.5)
Cowboys 27 Broncos 3
The Cowboys are emerging as the team to beat in the NFC. They won last Sunday without Dak Prescott and should have their starter back this week. The Broncos won last week but traded Von Miller on Tuesday, and this does not feel like a good situation for Denver.
Buf -14.5 (o/u 49)
Bills 41 Jaguars 18
The Jaguars got mauled in Seattle by Geno Smith. They are as bad as their record suggests, and they have the worst coach in the league. The Bills were flat last week and still crushed Miami. This one win be ugly.
Mia -6.5 (o/u 46)
Dolphins 24 Texans 13
I will be attending my first game at Hard Rock Stadium. I have often seen the Dolphins play at the Meadowlands; now, I get to see a home game. THEY BETTER WIN!!! I chose this game because the Texans are terrible.
Atl +6 (0/u 42.5)
Saints 20 Falcons 17
The Saints are now turning to Trevor Siemian at quarterback after Jameis Winston suffered a torn ACL. The spread seems out of whack. The Saints should win, but it will be a close game.
NYG +3 (o/u 46.5)
Giants 20 Raiders 17
It has been a tumultuous season for the Raiders, who are forced to deal with the Henry Ruggs III DUI that resulted in the death of a woman in Las Vegas. Ruggs has been released, but distractions like this don't make a week or preparation easy, especially for a Raiders team that struggles when they come east. Look for the Giants to score an upset.
Sunday Late Game
LAC -1.5 (o/u 50)
Chargers 37 Eagles 20
The Chargers tend to play better on the road than they do at home. Look for them to take advantage of the late start against the Eagles and soar to an easy win in Philadelphia.
KC -7.5 (o/u 48.5)
Chiefs 34 Packers 10
The Chiefs have not played well at all this season. A game against the Packers would set up as a problem, except Aaron Rodgers has COVID, lied about his vaccination status, and won't play Sunday.
Ari PK (o/u 45)
Cardinals 26 49ers 19
Coming off their first loss, expect the Cardinals to respond with a big win. The Cardinals have played better on the road than they have at home, and that won't change as they march into Santa Clara and beat the Niners.
Sunday Night
LAR -7.5 (o/u 53.5)
Rams 33 Titans 16
Derrick Henry could be lost for the season after foot surgery. The Titans have the AFC South well in hand, so they could be patient. At the trade deadline, the Rams added Von Miller and will be looking to launch themselves into a big second half on Sunday Night. This one will be all Los Angeles.
Monday Night
Chi +6 (o/u 40)
Steelers 17 Bears 13
The Steelers are looking to continue their resurgence as they host the Bears on Monday night. The Bears have been struggling as Justin Fields has suffered some growing pains. However, the Steelers tend to play close games; this one will be decided in the final minutes.
