NHL May Be Going On Pause But Money Never Sleeps And There Are Wins To Be Had In Russia

EBR is on a 6-0 run here and won a big one yesterday with CSKA taking down Jokerit in Helsinki 3-1. With the win, CSKA leapfrogged Dynamo Moscow into 2nd place.  Dynamo gets their chance to rebut with a visit from Sochi today.  This team is familiar to Chiclets Nation as Ryan Whitney played there and we have organized a petition to get his jersey to the rafters after his 42 games played with 6 goals and 13 assists but no response officially from the team.

Sochi started off the year poorly but has been playing better recently. Their Goalie is a giant and when Magnus Hellberg is on his game he's almost impossible to score on.  He is likely to be 1 of the 3 goalies to represent Sweden in Beijing if the NHL  players do not go. The Leopards lineup does not have any locks to make the USA or Canada for the Olympics, can't help but think this is one reason the team is towards the bottom of the standings.

Dynamo Moscow started the season on the opposite side of the spectrum winning 11 out of 12 games and lighting up the scoreboard every game.  The team is led by former Golden Knights' player Vadim Shipachyov, who will be on the Russian Olympic team. He’s a complete stud and leads the league by 12 points with 21 goals and 36 assists.

Had to add in this clip of him scoring his 1st NHL goal against the Bruins, just to grind RA’s gears a little bit.

Canadian Eric O’Dell would be a lock for Team Canada in Beijing without NHL players. He is the 2nd line center behind Shipachyov and would be a #1 Center on almost every other team. The depth down the middle is a strong reason this team can make a run late in the season. Their PP is one of the best in the league and look for Galiev #22 to get us one today.
