EBR - Fleury To The Leafs? Forsberg To The Bruins? The Trades That Shake Up The NHL And A Best Bet !!!
The NHL needs Blockbusters and these are 5 that accomplish just that:
Jakob Chychrun - Arizona Coyotes to Edmonton Oilers
Give them whatever they want if you're Ken Holland, You don't make a long playoff run soon you won't be around in 2 years to draft in the 1st round anyway. Chychrun playing 30 minutes a night will help the Oil more than anything. Jakob can play a lot of minutes against top lines and has experience playing against the likes of Colorado and Calgary. Plus we need to get this stud away from Biz as quickly as possible.
Claude Giroux - Philadelphia Flyers to Carolina Hurricanes
If the Canes want to make a deep cup run they will have to match some of the incredible offenses in the East. Giroux is a veteran with plenty of playoff experience who will help this young team when they face teams like Pittsburgh and Tampa or Florida. He instantly upgrades the power play that needs a right handed shot.
Phil Kessel - Arizona Coyotes to New York Rangers
Rangers are a young team and adding another scoring winger with cup experience will really help this team. I can see Phil waving his no-trade clause to go play in the bright lights of NYC for a couple months. The street hot dogs alone would be a nice added benefit but Phil plays his best under the big lights and they get no bigger than MSG. Do not mortgage the future for him but a prospect and a pick could get it done.
Marc-Andre Fleury - Chicago Blackhawks to Toronto Maple Leafs
Again give away the future, the time is now for Matthews and company. Fleury can still win games on his own and will bail out the defense when they make some turnovers. The Leafs are looking at Tampa maybe in the first round so they will need a goalie who has more confidence than anyone. Campbell is going to have a long career but swing for the fences and get the deal done.
Filip Forsberg - Nashville Predators to Boston Bruins
The Bruins have a top line that can compete with anyone in the NHL but after that its the bad news bears. The depth is a problem and Forsberg solves a much needed second line center who can play with Hall and make the 2nd power play a serious threat. Debrusk wants out and is looking for a big paycheck and who would not want to go to Nashville? Forsberg is a stud and Feits will have his jersey by end of the day.
5 More Smart Deals and Depth Moves:
Paul Stastny - Winnipeg Jets to Minnesota Wild
A young team needs a steady veteran that can play up and down the lineup. A team can never have too many guys like Stastny around during a playoff run.
Tyler Ennis - Ottawa Senators to Boston Bruins
Cheap and fast, throw him in the mix as a depth guy to add some offense. You will need all the extra speed and skill you can get when you're playing Tampa Bay or Carolina in the first round. He's also not afraid to throw the body around which all Bruins fans will love!!
Calle Jankrok - Seattle Kraken to L.A. Kings
The Kings rebuild has come quicker than expected and the team will make the playoffs this season. They will not risk the future this season with a blockbuster deal but Jankrok would add some extra scoring at a low price and fit in well with the other Swedes in L.A.
Nick Leddy - Detroit Red Wings to Florida Panthers
Need one more guy on the left side. Leddy can skate with anyone and they will need guys who can skate with Tampa’s small quick forwards. Detroit adds a few more assets to build with for the future.
Josh Anderson - Montreal Canadiens to Colorado Avalanche
Avs have it all , why not add a little size and grit to the lineup. He isn't just some meat that can handle a physical game, he can score a ton as well. He was in the Cup Finals last year and he will score some big goals for them on a long run. After his recent performances this might be expensive but winning the cup is always worth it.
Murls' NHL Best Bet:
Winnipeg Jets ML -105 - At home with their playoff future on the line vs. one of the worst road teams in the entire league. If that wasn't enough, one of their top 3 forwards Ehlers will be back in the lineup tonight.
