The Final EBR NHL Power Rankings, Cup Odds, And A NHL Winner…
EBR Team Rankings: Odds To Win Cup:
1. Colorado Avalanche +325
Stumbling down the stretch with injuries and motivation is an obvious factor this team is still the favorite to win the cup and #1 on EBR rankings.
2. Tampa Bay Lightning +1100
To win 3 in a row is an enormous challenge, but with Hedman, Kucherov, Point, and Vasilevskiy I will not bet against them.
3. Florida Panthers +550
Added Giroux and Chariot at the deadline, ran off 13 straight wins, and took the President’s Trophy. They will still need to show they can do it in Playoffs but, who doesn't wanna go to the finals in Ft. Lauderdale!
4. St. Louis Blues +2200
Quietly one of the hottest teams down the stretch with the winning pedigree that every GM dreams of come playoff time. Their coaching and leadership will be the difference-makers in the playoffs.
5. Toronto Maple Leafs +1000
Pressure is on to get out of the first round once again. If Matthews can continue this goal scoring pace and he will carry them through.
6. Calgary Flames +800
Johnny Hockey, Tkachuk, and Lindholm have been arguably the best line in hockey all season. Markstrom in the net gives them a chance against anyone.
7. New York Rangers +1700
Shesterkin is a cup-caliber goalie and I love the trade deadline pickups of Copp and Vatrano. MSG in playoffs is something special and this team could make a serious run.
8. Carolina Hurricanes +800
The team that everyone has kind of forgotten about as the season has come to an end, but they play extremely hard every night and the home ice in that small barn in Raleigh will give other teams fits.
9. Edmonton Oilers +1700
This is the team that has moved up the most in my power rankings the last month. The coaching change and unpopular move to add Kane has turned this team around completely. If Mike Smith can play as he did in April they are a legit Cup contender.
10. Boston Bruins +2000
Nobody loves a good Bruins playoff run more than Barstool and Chiclets Crew and the way they played down the stretch makes me think we could get a couple of rounds of them. The trade deadline acquisition of Lindholm was huge and Ullmark has been lights out the last few games of the season. Can they send legendary trainer Donny DelNegro into retirement with a cup win?
11. Minnesota Wild +1700
Kaprizov is one of my favorite players to watch he is dangerous every single time he touches the ice and with the Fleury pick up to secure the goaltending they look good. I think a lack of experience against the Blues will see them make an early exit.
12. Pittsburgh Penguins +2100
I'm a former Penguin so I will always think this team is a little better than they are, but the goaltending is just not there for them to make a deep run. Crosby could will a Men’s League team through a round of playoffs on his own, but a Cup run seems unlikely now the way they played down the stretch.
13. Washington Capitals +4000
What Ovechkin has done again this season is amazing and they have been great down the stretch, but I just can't see this team getting out of the first round vs. Florida.
14. Nashville Predators +4000
I really like this team, but with the injury to Jaros, it's really hard for me to see this team getting past the wagon that was built in Colorado at this point.
15. LA Kings +5000
Kings have been a great bet for us all year with sneaky good odds, but the series matchup with Edmonton is the end of the line for them. Doughty is out and Edmonton is just too good right now.
16. Dallas Stars +4000
I really don't like this team at all, if Vegas wasn’t so pathetic we wouldn't even be talking about this team. The matchup Calgary could end in a sweep.
Murls' Best Bet: The NHL winner for tonight is at least 2 of the 4 games will go to overtime +380!!! Barstool Sportsbook
