Murls Breakdown: 

This is an intriguing series! The Canes have been really good all season but due to the market the players are not household names and people have been sleeping on them.  They are stacked with 4 very good lines and a whole stable of great skating defenseman. Last post season, EBR was all over the Canes and I think they only got better with additions of Deangelo and Kotkaniemi. Raanta has played excellently at home and looks to have captured the form that Biz saw flashes of in Arizona.  The Rangers fan base is plentiful and loud but sometimes can be a bit delusional. 

The Pens were beaten up and the Rangers barely got past them.  The Canes are a different animal with their tight checking and unreal penalty kill.  I think this series comes down to the match up of the PP of the Rangers vs. the PK of the Canes.   The fans in Carolina will be tailgating all day and will have that place bumping tonight (Florida Panthers fans take notes).  Keep an eye on DeAngelo to see if he stirs the pot with the Rangers and how they react.
