MLB TRENDS

One of my favorite features of OddsShark is how well they lay out their content. It’s easy to read, and well organized. Take for example the MLB odds page.

Above is an early snapshot of the action (taken Thursday night). On game day the odds page is the best way to track trends (by clicking matchup) as well as seeing the consensus of where the public money lies. It’s my first stop everyday as I check MLB trends.

PICKS

Tough L last week despite Quintana throwing a gem. Back at it again with a Friday night (slight) underdog.

Indians +101

Big reasoning here has to do with momentum. The Yankees were sellers at the deadline which usually depletes a team, however they stayed energized for a 4 game series with cross town rival The Mets. Without the rivalry motivating them it’s likely to estimate now is when reality sets in. They are a young under performing team who just sold away some big pieces basically conceding their playoff hopes.

The Indians however have everything to play for as they are in pursuit of the pennant and have been controlling the Central all year. This past week was a huge slip up losing 3 of 4 to the lowly Twins. I see that as a big reason for the Tribe to try and right the ship starting off Friday night in the Bronx.

Stats that jumped out to me :

-Michael Pineda has given up 5 earned runs in 3 of his last 5 starts.

– Josh Tomlin has thrown 120 innings and walked 14. FOURTEEN !!!

I like the Tribe to pull this one out as they are the better team with more to play for.

– Big shout out to Hank – loyalty is much appreciated. Enjoy the weekend.
