Life Is Hell
Well, it happened again.
I don’t even really know what else to say. We got our hopes up one more time and had them dashed in the blink of an eye. There’s really not even anything you can say about the game other than it was predetermined by whatever supernatural force that has haunted Atlanta sports for the past few decades that this was going to happen.
I don’t even remember what the score was when this was tweeted, but it was a mere 19 minutes after first pitch. This game was over as soon as it started.
I guess this is simultaneously more embarrassing and more palatable than the usual Atlanta rip-your-heart-out elimination because the scoreboard looks so ridiculous but at least we just took a bullet to the head instead of a knife to the torso. Now the Braves head into 2020 with seven division titles since 2001 and zero playoff series wins, with a Wild Card Game loss for good measure.
I’d honestly like to say this is finally the one that allows me to check out, but I’ll see everyone back here next year to do the same thing all over again. It seems almost impossible for things like this to keep happening to the Braves over and over, and yet they do.
Y’all stay strong.
