Rear Admiral's Gambling Corner: We're All Over The Avs And A Small Taste Of Vegas

What’s shaking, gang? Monday’s Corner was less than stellar. Vegas got the regulation only W but couldn’t hang onto a two-goal lead or pot an ENG. But the nickel we netted there just helped pay for the TO losses (money line, puck line, and action reverse).

Fortunately, we got those losses back, and then some, when Tom Wilson sniped this doozy from 190 feet last night in LA.

To keep tabs on my daily plays (when applicable), check my Twitter feed at the witching hour (6:30-7:30) as that’s when I post any plays I have that night.

Moving onto tonight’s selections, I said on today’s Spittin’ Chiclets that I like Colorado and Vegas if Marc-Andre Fleury was starting.

Even though MAF rejoined the Knights after his father passed away, he will not be starting for Vegas on Long Island as Malcolm Subban gets his sixth straight start and is looking for his fifth straight win in what might be the best stretch of his career. In the opposite net, Semyon Varlamov, one of two #1 goalies for head coach Barry Trotz to choose from, gets the nod for the team that has surrendered the fewest goals in the league while setting a franchise record for consecutive games with at least a point. This game is a coin-flip that I’d normally avoid with MAF not playing. But Subban has been playing admirably well in his absence, not to mention the rest of the Knights. This is also the Isles third game in four nights. So we’re on Vegas at EVEN for the small play of 250 to make 250.

Up in the Strip Joint Capital of North America, it’s a battle between Colorado’s impressive #2 Pavel Francouz and former Northeastern stud Cayden Primeau, who is making his NHL debut tonight. The Avs have won four in a row and have been one of the hotter teams in the league. Oh, and Gabriel Landeskog and Andre Burakovsky are returning to the line-up tonight. The Habs snapped an eight-game winless streak Tuesday versus the Isles but they’re hardly out of the woods. Look for the Avs to keep rolling. We’re on Colorado -110 for 1100 to make 1000 and -1.5 +220 for 500 to make 1100.
